Sandwich panelsare tree-layer 0.4 mm to 0.75 mm sheets with a heater disposed therebetween. Heater is one of the major advantages. The core is commonly mineral wool (AKA rockwool or basalt wool), polystyrene foam (EPS) and polyurethane foam (PUR), as well as their improved fire resistant version—polyisocyanurate (PIR). Depending on the requirements and according to the building regulations, types of fillers may vary.

Sandwich panels with expanded polystyrene EPS are definitely a cheaper option. Main drawbacks include low fire resistance (E30 max), low bearing capacity and relatively high thermal conductivity.

If building regulations require increased fire resistance (60 minutes and more), sandwich panels with rock wool filler would be the only competent decision. 

Panels with polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foam are undoubted favorites among other sandwich panels. Low cost, the lowest thermal conductivity (almost 2 times lower than that of panels with polystyrene and rock wool), high fire resistance class up to EI 30, light weight, fully automated production cycle, long life (more than 25 years) provide for their leading position in the construction of prefabricated buildings.

Low weight, high durability, moisture resistance, fire resistance and high sound insulation make sandwich panels universal wall and roof construction elements.

Adaptability is on of the great things about sandwich panels.

Complete development of all required technical documentation with the calculation and delivery of all necessary components for panel installation (corners, flashings, fasteners, sealants) dramatically reduces the work on the construction site to the assembly-kit method.


Sandwich panels are used in the construction of various facilities—from industrial and office buildings to sports facilities. They are widely used for the construction of service stations, car washes, gas stations, warehouses. Sandwich panels are also used for making warm contours around drying chambers, etc.

They are ideally suited for the manufacture of refrigeration systems of various sizes. Dozens of low-temperature storage of large warehouses were constructed using sandwich panels. Excellent thermal insulation and high resistance to moisture absorption are especially important for these types of structures. Hygienic and easy-to-maintain surfaces of sandwich panels are extremely important in food industry where facing materials are exposed to special detergents, damp operating conditions, and high temperature environment.

Sandwich panels with polyurethane

A sandwich panel with polyurethane consists of two colored steel sheets and polyurethane filling. These panels are widely used in the construction of buildings, refrigeration systems, air conditioning systems, thermal insulation, etc. 

Unique properties of polyurethane foam (PUR, PIR):

  • low thermal conductivity (0.022 W/(m*K);
  • low density (40-43 kg/m3);
  • class of reaction to fire (flammability group) B-s2,d0 for PUR, B-s1,d0 for PIR;
  • inflammability class (fire-resistance) up to EI15 / E30 for wall panels PUR, up to EI30 for wall panels PIR;
  • high adhesive strength;
  • high acoustic insulation;
  • absence of thermal bridges;
  • option of isolating structure;
  • option of any shape and size;
  • coating longevity (no degradation or decay, no seasonal temperature fluctuation, precipitation, or aggressive industrial environment degradation);
  • environmental friendly;
  • durability (hard polyurethane foam (PUR, PIR) is able to maintain "equilibrium" thermal conductivity for at least 50 years). Results of field trials confirm the high reputation of polyurethane foam among builders.

Sandwich panels with insulation made of expanded polystyrene are used for the construction of prefabricated buildings. Sandwich panels with polystyrene foam (EPS) are one of the best insulating materials. They are used for mounting wall and roof enclosures of various purposes: industrial buildings, workshops, warehouses, refrigerated warehouses, commercial pavilions and shops.

Sandwich panels with polystyrene foam are used not only as thermal insulation, but also as a soundproofing material. They allow to conduct all assembly works in the shortest time. Panels have a wide variety of color solutions, which allows to skip the entire stage of outer facade finishing.

Advantage of sandwich panels with polystyrene foam:
